Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME Introduces Original Character, Story Details

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is currently in the works as a partnership between Akatsuki Games,TOHO and Production I.G, and when it drops it will introduce an original story with both new and returning characters. One of those new additions is Sagan Shinomiya, leader of a newly-formed special unit called CLOZER (Closing Order with Zero Restrictions), which is in charge of investigating mysteries surrounding Kaiju Dimensional Gates. Akari Kito (Nezuko Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ), who voices the newcomer, shared a greetings video: Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME Akari Kito Greetings Video As for that story, here’s more on what’s going down in the game, as revealed during the Kaiju NO. 8: Defense Force Boot Camp event in Yokohama: Mysterious gates known as the Kaiju Dimensional Gates have suddenly appeared due to the actions of a certain Kaiju. In this new Kaiju No. 8 world, where Kaiju with unknown powers appear not only in Japan but across the globe, Identified Kaiju that were once thought to be defeated now confront the Defense Force by passing through these Kaiju Dimensional Gates. On top of that, unknown Kaiju possessing special abilities—and seemingly responsible for the creation of these Kaiju Dimensional Gates—continue to cross over the boundary between dimensions to launch their attacks. Their appearance has led to a series of battles against colossal Kaiju. The original  Kaiju No. 8  manga by Naoya Matsumoto is serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital manga platform. An  English language version  is also available from VIZ Media. Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya direct the TV anime at studio Production I.G., with Ichiro Okouchi ( Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury ) on series composition, Tetsuya Nishio ( Naruto ) on character designs and Yuta Bando ( BELLE ) on music. Crunchyroll describes  Kaiju No. 8 : In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa.
