Mr. Osomatsu 2nd Live-Action Movie Slated for Early 2026

A second live-action movie inspired by the Mr. Osomatsu anime series is set to release in Japan in early 2026. The official website for the live-action film project revealed today that the five members of Ae! Group and Takuya Nishimura from Kansai Junior will newly play the sextuplet Matsuno brothers. Both groups belong to STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, the successor company to Johnny & Associates. The cast members to play the sextuplets are as follows: Osomatsu played by Seiya Suezawa (Ae! Group) Karamatsu played by Yoshinori Masakado (Ae! Group) Choromatsu played by Masaya Sano (Ae! Group) Ichimatsu played by Ken Kojima (Ae! Group) Jushimatsu played by Keita Richard Kusama (Ae! Group) Todomatsu played by Takuaya Nishimura (Kansai Junior) The first live-action film starring the nine members of Johnny & Associates' male idol group Snow Man released in March 2022, earning 1.67 billion yen (11.53 million USD) form its total domestic run. In place of the first film's Tsutomu Hanabusa, Taisuke Kawamura ( Princess Jellyfish live-action film) newly serves as the director on a screenplay by Takayuki Takuma. The upcoming fourth season is set to premiere on July 8, 2025 . Crunchyroll, which is streaming the previous three seasons , describes Mr. Osomatsu as such: Mr. Osomatsu is based off of the gag manga series Osomatsu-kun by Fujio Akatsuka, and ran from 1962 to 1969. The series features a set of sextuplets, the Matsuno brothers, with Osomatsu being the oldest brother and leader of the group.
