The manga's 12-episode anime adaptation streamed on Netflix in October 2022. "A few years after the end of the serialization, the live-action film adaptation, like the anime adaptation, was a miracle for me, and furthermore, I felt the seriousness and enthusiasm of the project's gorgeousness," Momose commented on the live-action movie project . "I thought my original manga was so-so chaotic, but when I read the script of the film, it was even more chaotic than my manga..., though it was live-action? I was so overwhelmed. My comedy skill has lots more to work on. As the author, I am most happy to see Romantic Killer in the light of day again in this way. I will wait until the December release, eating the chocolate that was confiscated from Anzu and playing games while stroking the cat." VIZ Media, which published the manga in English, describes the series: Anzu must play along in this altered reality before she can return to her normal life, so she begrudgingly makes friends with Tsukasa Kazuki. He unfortunately happens to be one of the hottest and most popular guys at school, and what’s worse, she realizes that he might not even be that bad of a person!
