WIND BREAKER Live-Action Movie Releases Teaser Trailer, Character Visuals

The official website for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Satoru Nii's WIND BREAKER manga series released a teaser trailer and visuals introducing the six main cast members today. WIND BREAKER Live-Action Movie Teaser Trailer The main cast include 26-year-old Koshi Mizukami , who plays the protagonist character, Haruka Sakura. "This is a delinquent film unique to the Reiwa era," said Mizukami. "The expression and perception of delinquent films have changed from my youth, and I feel the change of the times. While having a nostalgic feeling, I can't forget the days when I was working hard (in filming) with many staff members and with Haruka Sakura toward the new era, just like Haruka Sakura." The six main cast members' individual visuals were also revealed. Kentaro Hagiwara , who previously worked on the live-action film adaptations of Tokyo Ghoul in 2017 and Blue Period in 2024, serves as director. Yosuke Masaike, who won the Excellence Screenplay Award at the 46th Japan Academy Film Prize in 2023 for Anime Supremacy! , provides a screenplay. Satoru Nii's original WIND BREAKER manga series is serialized on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket website since January 2021, releasing 22 tankobon volumes to date. The manga's TV anime adaptation aired for two seasons in 2024 and 2025. Crunchyroll, which is streaming both seasons , describes the anime as such: Welcome to Furin High School, an institution infamous for its population of brawny brutes who solve every conflict with a show of strength. Some of the students even formed a group, Bofurin, which protects the town. Haruka Sakura, a first-year student who moved in from out of town, is only interested in one thing: fighting his way to the top.
