WIND BREAKER Live-Action Movie Reveals Three Additional Cast Members in New Trailer

The official website for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Satoru Nii's WIND BREAKER manga series released a second teaser trailer , introducing three additional cast members. Rikako Yagi plays Kotoha Tachibana, a girl who works at Cafe Post, a coffee shop located in a corner of the Tong Poo shopping district where Furin High School is located. Coki Yamashita plays Choji Tomiyama, the leader of Shishitoren, a gang group targeting the delinquent group Boufurin, to which the protagonist Sakura Haruka belongs. Noritaka Hamao plays Jo Togame, the sub-leader of Shishitoren who is royal to Tomiyama. Kentaro Hagiwara , who previously worked on the live-action film adaptations of Tokyo Ghoul in 2017 and Blue Period in 2024, serves as director. Yosuke Masaike, who won the Excellence Screenplay Award at the 46th Japan Academy Film Prize in 2023 for Anime Supremacy! , provides a screenplay. The manga's TV anime adaptation aired for two seasons in 2024 and 2025. Crunchyroll, which is streaming both seasons , describes the anime as such: Welcome to Furin High School, an institution infamous for its population of brawny brutes who solve every conflict with a show of strength. Some of the students even formed a group, Bofurin, which protects the town.
