At Crunchyroll’s industry panel today during Anime NYC, new details were revealed about the upcoming Let’s Play anime, including a new trailer, key visual, additional cast members, and the artist who will perform the theme songs for the show. The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 1, 2025, at 24:45 JST (effectively October 2, 12:45 am) on Fuji TV’s “+Ultra” programming block. Toshinobu Kubota will perform the opening and ending theme songs, “ 1, 2, Play ” and “ Left & Right ,” respectively. Renowned as the “Pioneer of Japanese R&B” who brought Japanese R&B to the world stage, Kubota has released 16 albums in Japan and three internationally since 1986, winning fans across the globe. Let’s Play Main Trailer The panel also announced that the in-universe game “Ruminate” will feature a theme by DJ Night Tempo. Aya Matsui ( Marmalade Boy ) is handling the series composition, with Ebimo on the character design concept. Saki Ebisawa (key animation in multiple Pokémon anime) will handle character design, with music composed by Cornish ( Recovery of an MMO Junkie ). The web comic by Leeanne M. Krecic (Mongie) began in 2016 with three seasons released on WEBTOON. Rocketship Entertainment currently publishes the comic. Crunchyroll will also stream the anime when it premieres in Japan . The series is described as such: Samara “Sam” Young is a developer in Los Angeles who’s about to achieve her dreams with her first video game, Ruminate. That is, until a popular streamer gives the game a scathing review. Even worse, Sam finds out the troublesome critic is now her new neighbor!
