Live-Action Sakamoto Days Film Announces Cast for Aoi and Hana Sakamoto

The Sakamoto family is fully in place for the upcoming live-action Sakamoto Days film. The adaptation is due out during Golden Week 2026, which falls between April 29 and May 6 of next year, and the latest cast announcement fills in the roles of Sakamoto’s wife and daughter. Aya Ueto (Azumi in Ryuhei Kitamura’s Azumi ) plays Aoi Sakamoto and Miyu Yoshimoto plays Hana Sakamoto. Check out their dual visual below. RELATED: Sakamoto Days Live-Action Film Adds Fumiya Takahashi as Shin Asakura As previously reported, Ren Meguro (Japanese male idol group Snow Man member) plays Taro Sakamoto and Fumiya Takahashi (Kamen Rider Zero-One/Aruto Hiden in Kamen Rider Zero-One ) plays Shin Asakura. Yuichi Fukuda, best known for his work on the Gintama live-action series, is attached to direct on a screenplay also by himself. Action scenes are supervised by Keiya Taguchi, who worked on the Attack on Titan live-action film series and Shin Kamen Rider . The two previously worked together on the UNDER NINJA live-action film. The Sakamoto Days live-action film is set to release in Japan during 2026’s Golden Week holiday , which falls between April 29 and May 6 next year. The original Sakamoto Days manga series, created by Yuto Suzuki, is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020, with 24 collected volumes in Japan and 19 translated and released into English as of November 11, 2025. The anime adaptation directed by Masaki Watanabe ( Bartender ) at TMS Entertainment premiered in January 2025, with Netflix streaming the series. The manga releases weekly on the Shonen Jump app and through VIZ Media, who describes the series as such: Time has passed peacefully for Sakamoto since he left the underworld. He’s running a neighborhood store with his lovely wife and child and has gotten a bit…out of shape.
