New Godzilla Film From Minus One Director Reveals Title

A stage event at Godzilla Fest 2025 in Tokyo today announced that the previously confirmed follow-up to Godzilla Minus One is titled Godzilla Minus Zero (GODZILLA -0.0), for which Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, writer and VFX supervisor. A release date is yet to be confirmed as of reporting. New Godzilla Film – Title Reveal Yamazaki previously spoke about a sequel to Godzilla Minus One in multiple interviews. In an interview with Collider before the Academy Award win, Yamazaki said that for any (then) hypothetical sequel, he wanted to “date it with how long it’s been in our timeline as to what the characters have gone through.” RELATED: Why is Godzilla Minus One So Good? Godzilla Minus One was initially released in Japan on November 3, 2023, eventually grossing, according to The Japan Times , US$116 million around the world, with 7.65 billion yen of that coming from Japan, making it the 93rd highest-grossing film of all time in the country. Minus One also has the honor of being the first non-English language film to win Best Visual Effects at the Academy Awards and Best Picture at the 47th Japan Academy Film Prize.
