The official website for the Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) released a main visual for its 2026 edition, Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2026 (TAAF 2026) . The visual was created by the team of character designers including Toko Yatabe and art director Mai Ichio, who won an individual award last year for their contributions to The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe film. TAAF 2026 is scheduled to take place from March 13 (Friday) to 16 (Monday), 2026, in the Ikebukuro area, Tokyo. The top 100 anime titles from all screenings, broadcasts and streaming releases during the 2025 fiscal year (October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025) will be selected by anime fans' votes. From those 100 works, "Best Work" (Feature film and TV series categories) and "Individual Award" awards will be voted on by a wide range of animation industry professionals, including producers, creators, other media and stores handling anime merchandise. Additionally, the "Anime Fan Award" will be selected by general user vote. Voting is limited to one per person until November 30. Users may select up to three TV series and three theatrical films from the list (with an email address is required to vote). To vote on the page, click "投票する!" ("Vote!") on the "Top 100 Favorites" page to display the list of all titles. After selecting the series, click "投票する" in the lower right corner again and enter your email address in a confirmation window. A verification email will be sent to confirm your address, and clicking the link in the email body will complete the voting process. TAAF will have its 13th edition in 2026. The aim of the festival reads is to "foster new talent, promoting the animation culture and industry, and contributing to the tourism of Tokyo by sharing the city’s charms under the slogan 'TOKYO is the HUB of contemporary ANIMATION.'"
